Celebrate Earth Science Week and National Fossil Day with the Idaho Museum of Mining and Geology and Orma J. Smith Museum of Natural History from 12-4:30 pm on Saturday October 5th. Lots of Idaho rocks and fossils, lecture, and activities such as fossil rubbing, fossil molds, scavenger hunt, and more!
1 pm Lecture: Idaho Dinosaurs by Dr. Krumenacker
Dinosaur fossils found in Idaho. Special attention will be given to one of Idaho’s most common dinosaur fossils, Oryctodromeus cubicularis. Dr. Krumenacker is an affiliate researcher at Idaho State University Department of Geosciences, and recently played a key role in researching, identifying and naming one of Idaho’s prehistoric creatures. His presentation will be perfect for interested students and adults.
